Happy Independence Day!
Well…..that has been my usual greeting my entire life. Really?.. What is Independence day to me?
Hot Dogs, Hamburgers, Watermelon, Fireworks. My usual way of celebrating , Not thinking much past the food and decoration.
Last Year while watching a fabulous Fireworks show with Rick and Anke ( Son and DIL) visiting home from Germany. The Show made you feel all warm and Fuzzy, as the Fireworks Danced in the sky to The
Usual Patriotic songs We sing. Of course I cry every time I hear the song “ Proud to be an American“. It wasn’t until I looked to my left, and saw my Precious Sweet GERMAN, DIL with Tears Streaming down her face.. After the show ,still emotional she told me that , This was the most Beautiful Tribute to our Freedom she has ever seen. I actually felt ashamed that I took our Freedom and Independence for Granted.
The beginning of this year I stepped into the reality of Independence and Freedom. My dear sweet Son was Deployed to Afghanistan, to fight in a War , That a lot of us question. Oh my… I found myself for these past 6 months kind of walking in a stupor. Hearing of daily Battles, trying to hold on to my Faith That God will keep him safe and return him home untouched. How could anyone return untouched having to do all , that these young men are required to do, so we could stay home and celebrate our Independence? We all have Changed. As the 4th approaches in a few days from now, I continue to pray as my Son will still be there. I know I will be Celebrating in a Whole New Way. Thank you God.

Got a Date

Well not that kind of a DATE. LOL! Rick looks to be Back home in Germany on the 11th of July. Please keep up the prayer so he can get out of there as soon as possible. The Relief team will be there on Friday the 28th. ( the end of this week). He will stay on about 2 more weeks training the new Company. The leave on the 8th or 9th, which will bring him home on the 11th.
THEN...............Anke and Rick will be here in the States around 19th...ish. And then.. Las Vegas here we come. We are gonna get to meet some of the Boys that were there with Rick. Should be a great time.

Thanks so much for all the support Rick has recieved during this time in Afghanistan. Thank you for making My Boy, Feel so Special. I can't tell you what this means to me. I really love and appreciate all the wonderful Friends and Family's words of support, especially for myself. This has been a hard time for me, especially when we hear the News. Acccckkkkk! But we all know who is in Charge. Not Man.... if that is what you were thinking. We Serve a Mighty Mighty God. Thank you Lord for your Awesome Protection. I know he will have some amazing stories to share.

Just a Note: the YMCA ROCKSSSSS ! Rick will get Free membership while he is here to work out, all he has to do is show his Military ID. Tear!!!

Rick isn't able to get online much right now, and has asked me to post, a huge THANK YOU.

I talked to Rick Last Night. Midnight ....... EEEEkkkk! But he can call me at any Hour!
It was sure so nice to hear his sweet voice. He sounded very up beat. And I can Guess why!
3 More Weeks. ( Can you all give me a Big WHOOT WHOOT WHOOT!!! WHOOO HOOOO! Although for Rick he will return abit later than most of the Others Because He has to Train Some People or something. The first lead team for the relief, left on their way to Afghanistan Yesterday!
Please Note Rick doesn't have Internet in his Room any longer, so I am getting phone calls from him about 1 x a week. Anke however gets them pretty often. I just check in with her.
I can hardly believe that it has been almost 5 months. Praise The Lord, He is only doing the 5 months instead of 6. I must say, This has been very tiring for me.

We are getting ready to Plan our short Las Vegas Trip, when They get here. It will be the 2nd half of July We think!

Rick said to Tell Grandma Jeanne, Her Womens Group at Church, And Aunt Francine, Thank you, Thank YOU! Thank YOU,
for all the Boxes. He loved everything in them.

I just want to say, to All the Family and Friends A Special Thank you Too! All of your time and Love you put into each of These Boxes for him. I know he felt so special, and Loved.

YOU CAN STOP SHIPPING BOXES NOW. They are getting all their stuff packed up to ship back home now.

I will try to update this each time he calls, but he has been so busy there. PLEASE CONTINUE TO PRAY, FOR OUR BOY. It may be three more weeks but, The Enemy is still there keeping them very Busy.

My favorite Prayer for these Boys is to pray for CONFUSION ON THE CAMP OF THE ENEMY, IN JESUS NAME. It is very powerful. Thank you Jesus.
