Ok.... This is just a Tentative Calendar.... I will change it, if need be.
I will contact all of you as we know for sure, to see if this will work for all of us.
So Please take a looksie and when I call, you can be ready to let me know if you can be available.
Rick and Anke and not going to be here as long as hoped so with only one real weekend in the Vacation, we have to use weekdays to do alot of the Gathering. I hope this works.

HE IS HOME!!!!!!!!!!
I JUST TALKED TO HIM........ He sounds so good. He is going out with Anke to Nurenberg!
So see her Parents, Then... I believe he said he was gonna Celebrate!!!! OMGOSH We are all so Giddy. I don't ever want these feelings,,,,, I am feeling right now to go away. Thank you LORD!!! Well now only just over 1 week and I can get my arms around him and smother him in Kisses!!! Love you Rick and Anke.

He is in Kurdistan !!!!!! for 24 hours then to Germany, He will arrive home on Saturday, to be in his Wifes Loving Arms!!!

It's HOT! 135 Degrees HOT!!!!!
I GOT THE CALL!!!!!!! He is in Kandahar!!!!!! I am so happy. He is at the Large Military base there for his transition to get out of there. I think it will be a few days though, but at least he is out of the Battle zone he was in. He was so Exited ....he got to Ride in a "Black Hawk", Even Won the Window Seat!!! Do you know what the Window seat is???.... NO DOOR.... Crazy kid. He loved every miniute of it, he got some great photos. If he would have moved over just 1 more Inch, he would have fallen out of the Chopper. Ok Now I really think he is CRAZY..
Once he landed, He said he was the happiest he has been in 6 months. He ate Pizza HUT , Pizza. He said he ate everything and even the cheese stuck to the top of the box. .

He' is coming home on JULY 4th
I just got a phone call this morning from Rick, He will be leaving on the 4th of JULY, OMGOSH!
How Symbolic is that! God is an amazing God. I know I will be crying my tears of JOY all Day!

Happy Independence Day!

Happy Independence Day!
Well…..that has been my usual greeting my entire life. Really?.. What is Independence day to me?
Hot Dogs, Hamburgers, Watermelon, Fireworks. My usual way of celebrating , Not thinking much past the food and decoration.
Last Year while watching a fabulous Fireworks show with Rick and Anke ( Son and DIL) visiting home from Germany. The Show made you feel all warm and Fuzzy, as the Fireworks Danced in the sky to The
Usual Patriotic songs We sing. Of course I cry every time I hear the song “ Proud to be an American“. It wasn’t until I looked to my left, and saw my Precious Sweet GERMAN, DIL with Tears Streaming down her face.. After the show ,still emotional she told me that , This was the most Beautiful Tribute to our Freedom she has ever seen. I actually felt ashamed that I took our Freedom and Independence for Granted.
The beginning of this year I stepped into the reality of Independence and Freedom. My dear sweet Son was Deployed to Afghanistan, to fight in a War , That a lot of us question. Oh my… I found myself for these past 6 months kind of walking in a stupor. Hearing of daily Battles, trying to hold on to my Faith That God will keep him safe and return him home untouched. How could anyone return untouched having to do all , that these young men are required to do, so we could stay home and celebrate our Independence? We all have Changed. As the 4th approaches in a few days from now, I continue to pray as my Son will still be there. I know I will be Celebrating in a Whole New Way. Thank you God.

Got a Date
Well not that kind of a DATE. LOL! Rick looks to be Back home in Germany on the 11th of July. Please keep up the prayer so he can get out of there as soon as possible. The Relief team will be there on Friday the 28th. ( the end of this week). He will stay on about 2 more weeks training the new Company. The leave on the 8th or 9th, which will bring him home on the 11th.
THEN...............Anke and Rick will be here in the States around 19th...ish. And then.. Las Vegas here we come. We are gonna get to meet some of the Boys that were there with Rick. Should be a great time.
Thanks so much for all the support Rick has recieved during this time in Afghanistan. Thank you for making My Boy, Feel so Special. I can't tell you what this means to me. I really love and appreciate all the wonderful Friends and Family's words of support, especially for myself. This has been a hard time for me, especially when we hear the News. Acccckkkkk! But we all know who is in Charge. Not Man.... if that is what you were thinking. We Serve a Mighty Mighty God. Thank you Lord for your Awesome Protection. I know he will have some amazing stories to share.
Just a Note: the YMCA ROCKSSSSS ! Rick will get Free membership while he is here to work out, all he has to do is show his Military ID. Tear!!!

And We Are in the Stretch!!!!!!!
I talked to Rick Last Night. Midnight ....... EEEEkkkk! But he can call me at any Hour!
It was sure so nice to hear his sweet voice. He sounded very up beat. And I can Guess why!
3 More Weeks. ( Can you all give me a Big WHOOT WHOOT WHOOT!!! WHOOO HOOOO! Although for Rick he will return abit later than most of the Others Because He has to Train Some People or something. The first lead team for the relief, left on their way to Afghanistan Yesterday!
Please Note Rick doesn't have Internet in his Room any longer, so I am getting phone calls from him about 1 x a week. Anke however gets them pretty often. I just check in with her.
I can hardly believe that it has been almost 5 months. Praise The Lord, He is only doing the 5 months instead of 6. I must say, This has been very tiring for me.
We are getting ready to Plan our short Las Vegas Trip, when They get here. It will be the 2nd half of July We think!
Rick said to Tell Grandma Jeanne, Her Womens Group at Church, And Aunt Francine, Thank you, Thank YOU! Thank YOU,
for all the Boxes. He loved everything in them.
I just want to say, to All the Family and Friends A Special Thank you Too! All of your time and Love you put into each of These Boxes for him. I know he felt so special, and Loved.
YOU CAN STOP SHIPPING BOXES NOW. They are getting all their stuff packed up to ship back home now.
I will try to update this each time he calls, but he has been so busy there. PLEASE CONTINUE TO PRAY, FOR OUR BOY. It may be three more weeks but, The Enemy is still there keeping them very Busy.
My favorite Prayer for these Boys is to pray for CONFUSION ON THE CAMP OF THE ENEMY, IN JESUS NAME. It is very powerful. Thank you Jesus.

Rick Sadly told me today that Ranger....... was put down. Sadly due to a Mistake.
Some thought he had Mange, But it was only a rash due to Human Shampoo.

They have been experiencing some intense Battle This week. Pray that the Lord Gives him Strength, Direction, & Wisdom . Im not Gonna Give much detail here, But Our Rick & fellow Soldiers, Knocked the Socks off The Evil in this Place This week.

I must let you all know, the collapse of the Mud Huts are not a result of any attack, It just gave away. Thank God no Soldiers were in their Bunks. They had been out 1 hour before Whew!!!! If so 7 would have been Killed. Approx. 1/3 of the Wall collapsed. The Indivdual rooms are within the Walls. These are Old Afghanie Mud Homes converted into this Military Base.
The pictures you are viewing are the Soldiers digging out and repairing the Walls. Rick is in most of them ( Black Beenie, t-shirt- gloves) .

Well for the last couple of days I have joined on the Yahoo IM Chat with Rick and Anke, I even get to see them Live via their Web Cams, It is so cool to see the Rick with his Sunburnt Face (the snow) move about in his room, at the same time as Seeing Anke in Germany moving about in their Office at home. I love it. Please register, so when they are on you will be able to say hello.
It seerms that Rick gets on around 7:oo am - 9:00 am Our time here in the States.
It is never the same time however, but if you check beteween those times he can invite you to see his room space in Afghanistan.
Rick I have sent you 2 packages, and getting another together. I hope they get there soon.

January 29th, Update
I just spoke with Anke Briefly, they had a nice Pizza Dinner with all the other Soldiers and thier Families. Today has been a bit Teary eyed for us all. I am so Glad to have Family for my support, and For Anke and Rick.
Anke was told there may be a possibility that they can return home in 5 months. Wow, isn't The Lord Good? They haven't left yet and we are already getting Praise Reports. I will just claim That and thank The Lord for the Earlier Return.
Rick said he will take plenty of pictures and post them here! It may be almost a week before he can get a chance to Get in touch. We Certainly understand. Be Safe my Son! We Love you and Anke!

Ricks Need List for Afghanistan
Just spoke with Rick This morning! Only 9 more days until he leaves!
I have a list here of Ricks needs while he is There. There is no Post to do his shopping for his Daily needs, So he will have to rely on Family for his daily needs. If you would like to send him a care Box, here are some necessities he will be needing on an ongoing basis. If you can help out that would be so greatly appreciated.

T-Shirts Cotton/Poly Blend - Sand in color ~ Size Medium
Socks ~ Any Color ~ Sand, Green, Black. ~ Shoe Size 10

New Deployment Date : January 29th
Changing that Date from February 1, to January 29th, Only a few days earlier.
Just spoke with Rick This Morning, and he had Great News! He won't be leaving for Afghanistan until February 1, 2008.
